MAKASSAR – The four-year journey of the Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Academic Senate for 2022–2026 is summarized in its final term report, presented at a reception at Unhas Hotel & Convention on Wednesday (30 September).
The Chair of the Unhas Board of Trustees (MWA), Prof. Dr. Andi Alimuddin Unde, M.Si., expressed appreciation for the working relationship among the university’s three main organs, namely the MWA, the Academic Senate, and the Rector, in advancing Unhas.
In Prof. Andi Alimuddin’s view, the three organs each have their own space and duties, yet can still build communication through discussion on various matters related to the university’s development, particularly in the academic field.
“What I am proud of is how we have been able to create discussion based on our respective main duties and functions, and then talk about how to improve academics at the university,” said Prof. Unde
Prof. Andi Alimuddin considered that openness in exchanging views is an important part of Unhas’s institutional journey. The MWA and the Academic Senate, together with the university leadership, can open their minds to one another in looking at the various needs of Unhas’s development.
Meanwhile, the Chair of the Unhas Academic Senate for 2022–2026, Prof. Dr. Bahruddin Thalib, drg., M.Kes., Sp.Pros(K), said that the many discussions held during the term have produced a number of decisions that form part of the Academic Senate’s journey.
Prof. Bahruddin also said that the record of the four-year term has been documented in the Memoir Book of the Academic Senate for 2022–2026.
“These four years of the journey certainly leave many records. The track record of the Academic Senate’s term can be seen in the memoir book that has been compiled,” said Prof. Bahruddin.
On the same occasion, Prof. Dr. H. M. Said Karim, S.H., M.H., M.Si., CM., CLA., representing the Academic Senate, shared messages and impressions of the 2022–2026 term.
Prof. Said Karim stressed the importance of togetherness among all elements of Unhas in continuing the university’s institutional work and development.
“We unite, so that Unhas advances and makes an impact,” said Prof. Said Karim.
The program then continued with the handover of the Memoir Book of the Academic Senate for 2022–2026 to the Rector of Unhas, represented by the Unhas Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs.
The book documents the Academic Senate’s journey over one term, while also recording the various deliberations, discussions, and decisions made in carrying out the university’s institutional and academic functions.
The handover of the memoir marks the close of the Academic Senate’s 2022–2026 term, and also serves as a record for the continuity of Unhas’s institutional work in developing the university’s academic life. (*/dhs)
