Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Korea Team Visits Hasanuddin University to Discuss Cooperation Opportunities

The Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., hosted a team from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies – Seoul Campus, to discuss opportunities for cooperation, especially in the field of production and promotion of innovative products. The activity was carried out offline by applying the Covid-19 prevention protocol in the Unhas Rector Meeting Room, 8th Floor, Unhas Rectorate Building, on Wednesday (7/20).

Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D,. Sp.BM (K). (Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Subehan, S.Si., M.Pharm., Sc., Ph.D., Apt. (Vice-Rector for Planning, Development, and Finance), and Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, S.T., M.Phil. (Vice-Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business) also participated and accompanied the rector.

On the occasion, Prof. JJ welcomed the cooperation between academics and industry to introduce or promote the innovative products generated in various scientific fields.

“As a PTN-BH campus that has autonomy authority, Unhas has developed various research products developed by several faculties through collaboration with the industry in managing and supporting the acceleration of export-ready products in the global market,” explained Prof. JJ.

Furthermore, Prof. JJ said that he would discuss with the relevant lecturers and research teams, as a follow-up to the cooperation opportunities that would be carried out in the field of product promotion and marketing.

On the same occasion, Prof. Sung Soo Kim, PhD, (Division of Environmental and Forest Science College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Gyeongsang National University) introduced Ginseng products as the result of his research. He said that Unhas is one of the best partners in conducting cooperation in the field of research to generate innovation in the health and pharmaceutical fields. The types of ginseng introduced by the Korean side are Double Wood Panax Ginseng for health and Ginseng Serum for beauty products.

The team from Hankuk University, University of Foreign Studies – Seoul Campus hopes that the meeting held with the leadership of Unhas can be continued through a partnership agreement. So that there will be further discussions related to collaborative research and development of the business world with universities.

The Hankuk University team and ginseng entrepreneurs from South Korea were accompanied by Dr. Munira Hasyim, Chairperson of the Unhas Indonesian Literature Department and her husband Ahmad Rijal.
