Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) and Open University Malaysia (OUM) agreed to collaborate in the development of higher education’s Tri Dharma. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was performed by the Rector of UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc. also known as Prof JJ and the President of OUM, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Izanee Hj. Awang. The event took place in the rector’s room on the 8th floor of the rectorate building at 12.00 CIT on Thursday, (12/01). On this occasion, they discussed several work programs that could be collaborated on.
On this occasion, Prof JJ said generally, UNHAS is open to establishing partnerships both nationally and internationally. Not only that, but Prof. JJ also gave an overview of UNHAS to OUM. He hoped that the cooperation agreement will have a positive impact on both parties. Furthermore, the collaboration with OUM would further strengthen UNHAS’ commitment as a university to contributing to the improvement of society in various sectors.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Izanee Hj Awang expressed his gratitude and pleasure for the hospitality from UNHAS in his speech. He gave an overview of OUM to the UNHAS. OUM is the seventh private campus in Malaysia and was founded in 2000. As a private campus, OUM strives to be the university of choice for anyone seeking affordable part-time study, especially those who work.
