Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) held a departure ceremony on August 21, 2026, for 14 students from the 2024 cohort of the Chinese Language and Chinese Culture Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, who will continue their studies at Nanchang University, China, through the 2026 2+2 Joint Degree Scholarship Program.
The ceremony took place at Prof. Mattulada Hall, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, UNHAS.
Under the 2+2 program, students complete part of their undergraduate education at UNHAS before continuing their studies at Nanchang University. Beyond academic coursework, the program offers participants an opportunity to strengthen their Chinese-language proficiency, develop intercultural competence, and experience a different academic environment.
The departure of the 14 students reflects UNHAS’ continuing effort to make international learning a more integral part of the student experience. It also demonstrates how sustained university partnerships can create concrete pathways for student mobility, academic recognition, and cross-cultural learning.
Through programs of this kind, institutional cooperation between Indonesia and China is translated into opportunities that directly benefit students while preparing graduates to work, communicate, and collaborate across cultures in an increasingly interconnected academic and professional environment.
