MAKASSAR – Immigration services are now closer to the Hasanuddin University academic community. Through the Unhas Campus Immigration Point (CIP), immigration services have begun a trial run on campus on Tuesday (8 September 2026).
The Unhas CIP is a collaboration between the Unhas Directorate of Internationalization/International Affairs Office (KUI) and the Makassar Immigration Office. The service is intended to make immigration services easier to access while supporting international mobility needs within Unhas.
During the trial phase, services run from 09:00 to 15:00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time) at the front area of the Unhas Rectorate Building, right next to the Directorate of Internationalization Office, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan KM 10, Tamalanrea, Makassar.
The service is available to both Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign nationals (WNA). For Indonesian citizens, available services include issuing new passports and replacing passports that have expired or have no remaining pages. For foreign nationals, services include extensions of visit stay permits and limited stay permits.
One of the conveniences offered by the Unhas CIP lies in its application mechanism. Unlike immigration services in general, which are first handled through an application, Unhas CIP applicants can come directly to the site and take a queue number.
After receiving a queue number, applicants prepare the required documents and go through document checks, biometric photo-taking, and an interview. For the photo, applicants are required to wear a dark-colored, collared garment.
This walk-in service is also applied with a quota of 100 applicants per day. The quota is enforced to ensure that service on site proceeds in an orderly and optimal manner.
For electronic passports, the applicable fee is Rp650,000 for a five-year validity and Rp950,000 for a 10-year validity.
Passport Application Requirements:
Applicants must bring original documents and photocopies on A4 paper, consisting of:
* e-KTP (electronic ID card);
* Family Card (Kartu Keluarga);
* Birth certificate, or elementary/junior high/senior high school diploma, or marriage certificate;
* Old passport, for applicants who have previously held a passport; and
* Unhas Student ID Card (KTM).
The presence of the Unhas CIP brings immigration services into the midst of campus activity. This can make it easier for students, lecturers, education staff, researchers, and foreign nationals active at Unhas to meet their immigration administrative needs.
For Unhas, which continues to expand its academic networks and international cooperation, the service also supports the mobility of the academic community and the international community connected to the campus.
The trial on Tuesday (8 September 2026) marks the first stage of operating the service before it is officially introduced. The Unhas CIP is scheduled for a soft launch on 10 September 2026, coinciding with the 70th Dies Natalis of Hasanuddin University. (*/dhs)
