Hasanuddin University Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., stressed the importance of strengthening human resources and improving the quality of public services as the key to the success of the 2026 Integrity Zone implementation. Prof. JJ made the remarks at the Kick-Off of the 2026 Integrity Zone Implementation, held in the Senate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Unhas Rectorate Building, Tamalanrea Campus, on Monday (2 February).

The event was led by Unhas University Secretary Prof. Ir. Sumbangan Baja, M.Phil., Ph.D., and attended by all heads of work units at Unhas, namely deans and vice deans, heads of institutes, directors, and the Integrity Zone Development Implementation Team.

Also present were the Chair of the Unhas Internal Audit Unit (SPI) (Dr. Andi Kusumawati, SE., M.Si., Ak., CA), the Unhas Integrity Zone State University Assessment Team (TP-PTN), and other support teams.

Prof. Sumbangan Baja said that Unhas is one of the universities with a high level of faculty participation in implementing the Integrity Zone. Unhas work units have met and even exceeded the indicator set by the ministry, namely at least 50 percent of work units.

“In terms of the number of work units, Unhas has exceeded the indicator set by the ministry. Next, we hope all work units can promptly complete the filling in and fulfillment of Integrity Zone documents accurately and in accordance with the provisions,” said Prof. Sumbangan Baja.

Meanwhile, Unhas Rector Prof. JJ stressed in the directive the importance of the role of human resources in building a culture of integrity. Unit leaders must pay attention to forming a new culture in public service, namely service that is excellent, high-quality, and free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

“Leaders must work toward continuous strengthening of human resources. Strong human resources will determine the quality of governance and the success of the Integrity Zone. We must ensure that every plan and program we draw up is truly implemented well and improves the quality of public services,” said Prof. JJ.

On this occasion, Ishaq Rahman, S.IP, M.Si, of the Unhas Integrity Zone TP-PTN, presented the progress and development of Unhas’s Integrity Zone work in 2025 and outlined the strategy Unhas has prepared for 2026.

“In 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology proposed five faculties from all state universities in Indonesia to receive the Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) title. Three of them came from Unhas: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Public Health, and the Faculty of Forestry. This achievement makes us optimistic that in 2026 we will be able to achieve the WBK title,” said Ishaq.

Unhas is currently intensively improving governance and services in 20 work units, consisting of 18 faculties and two hospitals. (*/dhs)
