Hasanuddin University celebrated its 66th Anniversary with the theme “Working Together for Unhas Excellence”. At the peak celebration a number of important figures were present starting from the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture and his staff and Marcos Montes Cordeiro (Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply).
The activity took place starting at 09.00 Wita at the Baruga A.P. Pettarani Building, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, and was connected online via zoom meeting and Unhas youtube, Saturday (10/09).
The Rector of Unhas Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., along with other Unhas leaders, the Governor of South Sulawesi (H. Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, S.T), and the Mayor of Makassar (Ir. H. Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto), warmly welcome the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture and Brazil.
On this occasion, Prof. JJ said that at the age of 66 Unhas, the greater the responsibility given to contribute to society. At this age, Unhas provides breakthroughs and opens new pages with the determination and enthusiasm of all academicians.
Furthermore, he also gave an overview of the various achievements of Unhas during one year in various fields. As a university, Unhas continues to make efforts to improve to be the best not only at the national level but also globally.
This is Unhas’ commitment to getting in world rankings, including the recognition of 66 Unhas study programs that have been successfully accredited internationally. This makes Unhas the fifth university with the highest number of international accreditations.
In addition, he also provided an overview related to Unhas’ efforts to be present in the community through the tagline “Unhasku Bersatu, Unhasku Kuat” which is seen in institutional strengthening, digital transformation, and internationalization to university independence.
“The anniversary celebration is momentum for Unhas reflection on various things that have been passed and achieved during one year. The achievements, recognition, and work of the entire Unhas academic community have contributed a lot to the nation and state. Unhas is no longer the best campus in Eastern Indonesia, but has soared nationally and globally, explained Prof. JJ.
The Governor of South Sulawesi, H. Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, S.T., in his remarks expressed his congratulations and high appreciation to Unhas for the contributions that have been made to the community and the South Sulawesi government to date. According to him, Unhas as a university has provided active involvement and optimal synergy in developing South Sulawesi. Andi Sudirman Sulaiman also explained the achievements of the South Sulawesi government in various fields.
The peak of the 66th-anniversary celebration of Unhas presented the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture to give a scientific oration related to strengthening the reasoning and culture of higher education. In addition, there was also the launching of the Unhas independence program and the signing of cooperation with the Brazilian minister of agriculture and several other partners. The whole series of activities went smoothly until 12.30 WITA.
