Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., held a dialogue with the Koalisi Setara Unhas in the Rector’s Room, 8th Floor of the Rectorate Building, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar on Wednesday (13/07).
The event was also attended by Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs (Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D,. Sp.BM(K), Vice-Rector for Human Resources, Alumni, and Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, S.H., M.Hum), and Head of the Rector’s Secretariat Office (Dr. Sawedi Muhammad, M.Sc).
Koalisi Setara Unhas conveyed that the meeting with several leaders of Unhas was intended to obtain information regarding the follow-up to the implementation of Permendikbud Number 30 of 2021 concerning Prevention and Treatment of Sexual Violence (PPKS) in the Higher Education Environment.
“The Setara Unhas Coalition is a dialog forum formed by initiation from students in reviewing and monitoring the implementation of Permendikbud at the Unhas campus,” explained Sakinah Raodliyah.
Responding to the good response given by the leadership, Koalisi Setara Unhas hopes to create a campus that is safe from violence through the implementation of a firm system or policy as a protection for students.
Rector of Unhas Prof. JJ stated Unhas’ commitment to providing strict regulations for the prevention of sexual violence that occurs on campus through improving complaint services, learning, and education.
“Unhas has formed a Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence on campus. As an effort to maximize the realization of safety environment, the leaders will immediately hold further discussions to present a prevention program,” explained Prof. JJ.
Article 23 of Permendikbud Number 30 of 2021 explains that in the Prevention and Treatment of Sexual Violence, the Higher Education Leader forms a Task Force at the Higher Education level which is first formed through a selection committee. The selection committee are consisting of educators, education personnel, and students.
