The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) has officially commenced the selection process for the 9th International Cultural Program (ICP). On Monday, 11 May 2026, the selection committee gathered at the IO Meeting Room to review and evaluate prospective applicants from non-UNHAS students. This crucial step marks the beginning of filtering a diverse pool of international candidates eager to participate in the upcoming cultural exchange.
To ensure the highest quality of participants, the selection team meticulously reviewed every single applicant’s online documentation. The thorough evaluation process covered various required credentials, ranging from current photographs and passports to recommendation letters, motivation letters, and valid health insurance. This rigorous vetting ensures that all shortlisted candidates meet the university’s academic and administrative standards.
The program has already garnered massive global interest, with applicants spanning around 25 countries so far. Leading the list with the highest number of submissions is Pakistan with 24 applicants, closely followed by Nigeria with 12 applicants. The official list of the selected international participants is currently with the ICP Committee and will be released to the public as soon as possible.
While the non-UNHAS selection is underway, the committee is still actively looking forward to internal applications from UNHAS students. The registration deadline for local UNHAS students is set for the end of May, meaning the total number of participating countries and attendees is expected to increase. The selection session was conducted by key academic figures including Saaduddin, Ph.D., Khaeruddin, Ph.D., Haniek Khoirunnissa, M.Sc., and Muhammad Ridwan, M.A., alongside supporting committee members from the International Office.
