Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) welcomed a delegation from Coventry University, United Kingdom, at the 6th Floor of the Rectorate Building on Monday, 9 June 2026. The meeting was hosted by Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, Vice Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business, as part of UNHAS’ commitment to strengthening international collaboration in research and higher education.
The meeting was attended by several key representatives from UNHAS, including Prof. Dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM); Ansariadi, Director of Partnership; chairpersons of relevant Thematic Research Groups (TRGs); and alumni of Coventry University. Representing Coventry University were Prof. Rohit Bhagat, Director of the Centre for E-Mobility and Clean Growth, and Prof. Benny Tjahjono. The delegation engaged in discussions aimed at identifying potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions.
A key focus of the meeting was the development of research partnerships between UNHAS researchers and Prof. Rohit Bhagat in his capacity as Director of the Centre for E-Mobility and Clean Growth. Discussions explored opportunities for joint research initiatives, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in some areas related to sustainable transportation, clean growth, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies. Relevant Thematic Research Groups (TRGs) at UNHAS were invited to explore potential collaborative projects with Coventry University’s research centre.
In addition, Prof. Benny Tjahjono led discussions on the possibility of establishing a dual-degree program between UNHAS and Coventry University. The proposed initiative is expected to enhance academic mobility, broaden the international learning opportunities for students, and strengthen institutional ties between the two universities.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Hasanuddin University and Coventry University to advancing international cooperation in research, education, and innovation. Both parties expressed optimism that the discussions would pave the way for concrete collaborative programs and long-term strategic partnerships.The visit concluded with a mutual agreement to continue exploring opportunities for cooperation and to strengthen the academic relationship between UNHAS and Coventry University in the years ahead.
