Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) participated in the UTM Mobility Carnival 2.0 (UMC) 2026, organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) from 22–26 June 2026 at the Student Union Building (SUB), UTM Johor Bahru.
Held under the theme “Explore the World, Expand Your Future,” UMC 2026 brought together more than 40 delegates representing 28 universities from 14 countries, providing a dynamic platform to promote international mobility opportunities and strengthen global academic partnerships.

The participating institutions reflected the diversity of the global higher education community. Indonesia was represented by UNHAS, Airlangga University, Ciputra University Surabaya, Maritim Raja Ali Haji University, State University of Jakarta, State University of Malang, Sepuluh November Institute of Technology, Hang Tuah University, National Institute of Technology Bandung, and Telkom University.
From India, participating institutions included Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, and Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology. Vietnam was represented by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, International University – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and the University of Economics and Law – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
Other participating universities included Ankara Bilim University (Türkiye), Atlantic Technological University (Ireland), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary), Cebu Technological University (Philippines), Islamic University of Technology (Bangladesh), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) (Republic of Korea), Nara Institute of Science and Technology (Japan), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech) (Taiwan), The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong SAR, China), Tianjin University (China), and Università di Camerino (Italy). The carnival showcased a wide range of international opportunities, including student exchange, academic visits, research internships, and summer schools.
UNHAS was represented by Kumara Tungga Dewa, S.S., from the International Office (Mobility Program), and Dr. Betrin Natasya, Project Manager at the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM). Throughout the five-day event, the UNHAS delegates participated in the international mobility exhibition, networking sessions, keynote forums, and meetings with representatives from partner universities worldwide. The event also featured cultural performances and student entrepreneurship activities, fostering intercultural understanding while creating opportunities for future collaboration.
The participation of UNHAS in UMC 2026 reflects the University’s strong commitment to advancing internationalization through strategic partnerships, academic mobility, and collaborative research. The event also served as an excellent platform to promote UNHAS’s international programs, strengthen existing partnerships, and establish new collaborations with leading universities across Asia and Europe. Through its participation in UTM Mobility Carnival 2.0, UNHAS expects to further strengthen its collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and other international partners, paving the way for expanded student and staff mobility, joint research initiatives, and other impactful international academic programs.
