Hasanuddin University (Unhas) continues to strengthen its international cooperation network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Japanese companies Atago Co., Ltd. and BESTie Co., Ltd. The signing took place in the Meeting Room on the 4th Floor of the Unhas Rectorate Building on Tuesday (10 March).
Vice Rector for Partnerships, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, S.T., M.Phil. stressed that collaboration with international industry partners is a strategic step for Unhas in improving the quality of education while expanding opportunities for students to gain global experience.
“This cooperation opens broader opportunities for Unhas students, especially from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, to gain direct experience in Japanese industry. Through this program, students not only learn about the world of work but also come to understand professional culture and global work ethics, which are very important for facing international competition,” said Prof. Adi.
Atago Co., Ltd. President Kunio Inokuchi said the collaboration not only benefits students but also opens space for knowledge exchange between industry and universities.
“This program gives students the opportunity to learn directly from industry practice in Japan. We believe the experience will help them develop professional skills while broadening their global perspective,” said Kunio Inokuchi.
BESTie Co., Ltd. CEO Yuki Matsumoto said the internship program is designed as a hands-on learning space for students to understand industry dynamics in Japan.
“Through that experience, students not only develop their language skills but also build an understanding of how to work in cross-cultural teams,” said Yuki Matsumoto.
The program also opens opportunities for alumni of the internship to obtain job opportunities according to the needs of the partner companies.(gie/aya/*)
