Hasanuddin University had a leadership coordination meeting to address initiatives to bolster the World Class University plan (WCU). On Saturday (September 24) and Sunday (September 25), at 9:00 WITA, there was a meeting at the Swiss Belhotel in Makassar to show the ranks of the Unhas leaders.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., Unhas’s chancellor, started the event by saying that, as a university, Unhas continues to do its best to improve quality in many ways, both domestically and internationally, including in WCU rankings.
According to him, these numerous strategic actions require the cooperation and participation of the whole academic community of Unhas. Therefore, what is expected can be accomplished through synergy.
“The success of Unhas is dependent on the extent to which the entire academic community is engaged, not just certain work units. However, everyone must play a part. So, as Professor JJ said, we will get the most out of our efforts and be able to achieve our shared goals.
At the same event, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rohani AR, M.Sc., Director of the Center for Improvement (PPR), said that national and international rankings show a school’s reputation and cannot be ignored as a measure of the quality of higher education.
Professor Rohani also gave the WCU a number of things related to rankings, such as parameters, types of rankings, a ranking structure, and the data needed to show where Unhas is now.
“We jointly know where Unhas is. We attempt to enhance what has diminished as well as what has been effectively kept and even enhanced. So that we can work together to make policies that will help us achieve our shared goals, “Prof. Rohani said.
The leadership coordination meeting, during which the strengthening of Unhas in the WCU was on the agenda, ran successfully. All the leaders present made comments, input, and strategic actions that may be taken in the future to encourage the global ranking of Unhas to rise. (*/mir)
