One of the ways to introduce international students’ countries of origin to the Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) academic community is through the Geography Series, affectionately known as the G-Series. This G-Series is a monthly signature program organized by the International Office (IO) of UNHAS. For the month of May, the program proudly spotlighted Nigeria, offering attendees a unique cultural deep dive.
The event was held on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, starting at 2:00 PM Makassar time in the Science Building, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA). The insightful session was delivered by Chufo Chisom Godswill, a Nigerian student currently majoring in Nursing at UNHAS. The presentation was smoothly guided and moderated by an IO Student Volunteer (STUVO).
Joining an audience of around 50 enthusiastic students, Mr. Chisom kicked off his presentation by showcasing his country’s vibrant beauty and local vibes. He used a captivating, custom-designed video specifically tailored to attract and engage the UNHAS community right from the start. Throughout the event, he was also warmly supported and accompanied by his Nigerian colleague, Mistafa Sanusi, who is majoring in International Relations.
As the event concluded, Ms. Harniaty, representing the IO, stepped forward to hand over official merchandise to Mr. Chisom as a token of appreciation for his excellent efforts. Following the success of this edition, the IO looks forward to welcoming more international students to introduce their diverse home countries in the months to come.
