MAKASSAR – A total of 67 participants took part in the interview stage of the 2026 Hasanuddin University Security Guard (Satpam) Recruitment Selection. They are among 109 applicants in the selection process to fill 33 positions, consisting of 30 male and 3 female security guards.

The interview is one of the stages for assessing participants’ readiness to carry out security duties in a university environment. The assessment looks not only at security capability, but also at integrity, discipline, responsibility, communication, preparedness, work experience, and the ability to handle various situations on campus.

The interviews were led by the Vice Rector for Human Resources, Talent Development, and Welfare of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, S.H., M.Hum., together with the University Secretary, Prof. Dr. Eng. Amiruddin, S.Si., M.Si. Also involved in the interviews were the Unhas Director of Administration and Human Resources Services, the Director of Communication and the Rector’s Secretariat Office, the Head of the Household Affairs Subdirectorate, and the Head of Unhas Security.

Prof. Farida said that security officers play an important role in keeping the academic environment safe, orderly, comfortable, and conducive. In carrying out their duties, security guards also deal directly with the various people who work on campus, so the ability to provide service in a humane and professional manner is an important part of the job.

“Security officers do not only perform a security function, but also provide service to students, lecturers, administrative staff, guests, and members of the public within the Unhas environment,” said Prof. Farida.

The dynamic character of a university environment, with its wide range of activities, was also one of the considerations in the selection process. Participants are expected to show readiness to face diverse conditions, take appropriate action, and communicate well while carrying out their duties.

The involvement of university leaders and several related units in the interview stage is part of the selection process to ensure that prospective security personnel match Unhas’s needs.

The 2026 Unhas security guard selection is being conducted through an accountable and transparent process. With this principle, the university hopes to produce professional, humane, and high-integrity internal campus security personnel.(*/dhs)
