Hasanuddin University (Unhas) continued its Outreach and Promotion of the National New Student Admission Selection (SNPMB) in North Toraja Regency. The event took place at the Hall of SMAN 1 Toraja Utara (State Senior High School 1 North Toraja), starting at 09:00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time), on Friday (23 January).
The outreach featured Director of Education Prof. Dr. Risma Illa Maulany, S.Hut., M.NatRest., Head of the New Student Admission Subdirectorate Nurul Ihcsani, S.Ikom., M.Ikom., and Head of the Career Center Burhan Kadir, S.S., M.A., as speakers.
Prof. Risma explained that SNPMB admission does not end with the announcement alone. Students must read carefully all the information given after the selection results are announced.
“The admission announcement must be read carefully. Admission is finally determined only after the verification or re-registration process at the university where one has been accepted. Do not forget to re-register and pay attention to the important dates that have been set,” explained Prof. Risma.
Re-registration is a mandatory stage for participants declared accepted. If participants do not re-register on schedule, their admission will be automatically canceled by the system.
“If the re-registration is valid, we will issue an admission Decree that is reported to PDDikti, so the whole process must follow the rules,” added Prof. Risma.
Other material was presented by Head of the New Student Admission Subdirectorate Nurul Ihcsani, S.Ikom., M.Ikom., who gave an overview of educational facilities at Unhas, including the various independent admission pathways available, from disability affirmation to the international class pathway.
Nurul also explained Ministerial Regulation Number 345 of 2022 on Supporting Subjects for Study Programs in the National Merit-Based Admission (SNBP), which regulates subjects from the Merdeka Curriculum and the 2013 Curriculum as report-card assessment components for entering state universities.
“Each participant is allowed to choose a maximum of two supporting subjects in the National Merit-Based Admission (SNBP) process,” explained Nurul.
Head of the Unhas Career Center, Burhan Kadir, S.S., M.A., explained KIP Kuliah as one of the scholarships provided by the government to prospective students. Burhan also gave an overview of student activities, which are an important part of building character and developing the soft skills of Unhas students.
“Balance is a program that all new students must take part in. Through this activity, new students will be introduced to academic values, organizational culture, leadership, and the strengthening of integrity and ethics. There are also many other student activities that new Unhas students can join,” explained Burhan.
The outreach in North Toraja also closed the series of Unhas SNPMB Outreach and Promotion events held in 24 regencies/cities since Monday (19 January).
On the final day, the Unhas team targeted four areas: North Luwu Regency, North Toraja Regency, Palopo City, and Enrekang Regency. (*/mir)
