The Directorate of Student Affairs at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) held an Outreach Session on the 2026 Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) at the Arsjad Rasjid Lecture Theater on Thursday, 6 February 2026. The event was attended by officers of student organizations, including Student Activity Units (UKM) as well as student bodies at the Student Executive Board (BEM) and student association levels.
The outreach session aimed to give student organizations a thorough understanding of the scheme, opportunities, and direction for strengthening the role of student organizations (ormawa) through the PPK Ormawa program, while also encouraging higher-quality student activities that make an impact on society.
Unhas Director of Student Affairs Abdullah Sanusi, Ph.D., attended to give remarks and present student affairs policy. Abdullah affirmed that student organization activities now receive academic recognition and can be converted into semester credit units (SKS) through the Competency Strengthening Course (MKPK).
“Student organizational activity is no longer merely non-academic; it has become part of the learning process recognized through MKPK,” said Abdullah.
Unhas students have a variety of options for joining organizations. Currently, Unhas has 38 Student Activity Units (UKM), and that number may still grow. Besides UKM, Unhas also prepares various strengthening programs for student bodies, including the Village Development Program (Bina Desa) and the Mahakarya Program, designed to encourage students’ real contributions within society.
“Thank you to all student organization officers who attended. We hope more ormawa will have the opportunity to take part in PPK Ormawa,” Abdullah said.
At the event, the outreach on implementing PPK Ormawa 2026 was delivered by Husnul Mubarak, S.TP., M.Si., a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture at Hasanuddin University who is also a PPK Ormawa mentor lecturer.
In the presentation, Husnul Mubarak explained technically the implementation flow, requirements, proposal-writing strategies, and the timeline or schedule of PPK Ormawa 2026.
As a previous achievement, in 2025 four Unhas student organization teams succeeded in winning funding under the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa). This achievement is expected to motivate other student organizations to improve the quality of their planning and proposals for PPK Ormawa 2026.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Subdirectorate for Student Achievement and Talent Development at Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Suhasman, S.Hut., M.Si., delivered an outreach on the Competency Strengthening Course (MKPK), particularly in the organization field. Prof. Suhasman explained that student organization activities can be recognized as learning outcomes of up to a maximum of 4.05 SKS.
This recognition can be obtained by attaching letters of appointment and discharge from organizational leadership, as well as the organization’s accountability report for the period in which the student served as an officer.
Through this outreach session, the Unhas Directorate of Student Affairs hopes that student organizations will become more adaptive and focused, and able to make use of various strengthening programs, both PPK Ormawa and MKPK, as a means of developing students’ competence, leadership, and real contributions to society.(*/kmhs/fjr)
