Universitas Hasanuddin and the University of Forestry Bulgaria Agreed on International Collaboration.

Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) and the University of Forestry, Bulgaria coincide to collaborate on the development of Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) including Education, Research, and Service. The collaboration was manifested in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Rector of Unhas (Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc) and the Rector of the University of Forestry, Bulgaria (Prof. DSc. Ivan Hiev).

The MoU signing ceremony took place online through the Zoom Meeting application at 16.30 Eastern-Indonesian Time on Thursday (26/05). The ceremony was also attended by Petar Andonov (Bulgarian Ambassador for Indonesia) dan Iwan Bogananta (Indonesian Ambassador for Bulgaria).

To begin with, Prof. Ivan Hiev expressed his joyful feeling toward the collaboration. He hoped that the agreement between the two parties can produce a positive impact in the field of Education and Research. The rector also expected that the agreement can encourage other higher institutions in Bulgaria to generate collaboration with Indonesian higher institutions.

On the same occasion, the Rector of Unhas, who is usually called Prof. JJ, conveyed his gratitude and thankfulness for this partnership. During the Pandemic Covid-19, Unhas has been maximizing its potential in various aspects, including national and international collaboration.

“Today, we only can make it virtually, yet we are still delightful meeting our distinguished partner via the Zoom Meeting app. Despite our virtual encounters, we still can be productive and work together to strengthen the development of education, research, and community service. The implementation of this collaboration can be done through student exchanges or research collaborations.” said Prof. JJ.

At the end of the ceremony, Iwan Bogananta as the Bulgarian Ambassador for Indonesia gave his closing remark appreciating the collaboration by the universities. Furthermore, the partnership will be a decent solution for the science and technology development in respective countries. The Ambassador looks forward to the result of the collaboration in the future.
