Welcoming New Students 2021, Faculty of Law Universitas Hasanuddin Launches Wise-Use Movement of Social Media And Anti-Bullying
The Faculty of Law, Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), launched the Wise-Use Movement of Social Media and Anti-Bullying conducted simultaneously with the New Students Admissions and Character Development (P2KMB) at the faculty level. The activity started at 09.00 WITA with limited offline activities held at Baruga Prof. Dr. Baharuddin Lopa. It was connected virtually through the zoom meeting application, Tuesday (10/08).
Through her remarks, Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, S.H., M.Hum, as the Dean of the Faculty of Law, welcomed all new students of the Faculty of Law Unhas. She said that it was not easy to be a part of the Faculty of Law Unhas. Thus, the opportunity given to study in this faculty should be utilized as great as possible.
“You are the selected people over many enthusiasts of the Faculty of Law Unhas. Do not take this opportunity only for granted; use your time here properly and follow the learning process well. The Faculty of Law Universitas Hasanuddin also greatly supports the development of talents and interests through various student institutions,” explained Prof. Farida
On the same occasion, she also delivered material about the introduction of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma widely known). In the current era of learning, the activities of the Tri Dharma need to be elaborated on the policies of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology related to the Independent Learning, Independent Campus.
Students encounter various challenges in the future. Therefore, it confidently takes each student’s creativity and tenacity to compete, which must support an excellent academic learning system.
This year, the Faculty of Law Universitas Hasanuddin admitted 486 new students consisting of 392 Legal Science and 94 State Administrative Legal Science. Besides, concurrently with the opening of the P2KMB at the Faculty level, the Faculty of Law Universitas Hasanuddin also launched the #bijakbermedsos (Wise-Use Movement of Social Media) #antibullying movement.
This movement is based on the research results of the P2KMB of the Faculty of Law Universitas Hasanuddin committee team in 2021, which shows that cyberbullying is still a problem. Thus, it is necessary to cultivate digital literacy for new students and avoid other forms of bullying, which are considered a crime regulated by Indonesian law.
The #bijakbermedsos and #antibullying movement was officially launched by the Dean accompanied by the President of Student Body, Faculty of Law Unhas, and the faculty leaders. The launch was marked by the unfurling of a banner that reads #bijakbermedsos #antibullying and a launch video prepared by the committee.
