About the Program

Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering Hasanuddin University was established in 1980. It is designed to enhance students’ skills and ability in solving problems related to the application and management of technologies in the field of agricultural engineering. The emphasize is on the techniques used to maintain the sustainability of environment and agriculture resources, and the connection between crops, land, and water in the performance of agricultural machineries, production process, and agriculture building. In this study program, people can study the application of mathematics, science, and engineering in agriculture, food system, energy, natural resources, and environment.

Strengths

The study program of Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering Hasanuddin University has been accredited internationally by ASEAN University Network (AUN). In national level, the study program has achieved the highest accreditation level, i.e. UNGGUL, from BAN-PT. At the moment the study program in the process of application of international ASIIN accreditation.

Areas of Specialization

This bachelor study program has three concentrations, namely

  • Food and Agriculture Product Process Engineering
  • Soil and Water Engineering
  • Agriculture Machinery

Learning Process

Teaching and learning process is conducted by face-to-face sessions in the classroom, laboratory practice, field practice, and apprenticeship in industries and government institutions. In addition, students can join classes in other study program or at other universities. At the end year, students caried out research and write down mini thesis in a specific topic.

Career Prospects

Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering alumni can have various career in various industries, consultant, government institutions, education institutions, private companies, and non-governmental organizations. Some alumni become engineers in the field of agriculture production, soil and water engineering, agriculture machineries, food process and post-harvest technologies, and control and instrumentation. In addition, some alumni chose to become entrepreneurs in the field related to agricultural engineering.
