About the Program
Bachelor of Plant Protection is one of the programs at the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University which focuses on the field of plant protection science to support sustainable agriculture.
Strengths
In 2022, Bachelor of Plant Protection re-established again, after becoming part of the Agrotechnology study program at the Faculty of Agriculture for 15 years. The program holds a "BAIK (good)" accreditation status effective from 5 September 2023, issued by BAN-PT (National Accreditation Board for Higher Education).
The Bachelor's Program in Plant Protection has extensive collaborations with various industries, such as Mondelez International, CV. Organic Farming Indonesia, PT Harmony Mega, and national research institutions like BRIN, as well as governmental bodies under the Ministry of Agriculture such as the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, Plant Protection Institutes for Food and Horticulture, Agricultural Departments, etc.
It also has good collaborations with domestic and international universities, such as University of Melbourne (Australia), Harper Adams University (UK), Mendel University in Brno (Czech Republic), The Global Initiative on Crop Microbiome and Sustainable Agriculture, Western Sydney University, Taiwan International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF), and the SUIJI (Six Universities Initiative Japan Indonesia - IPB, UGM, and UNHAS, Ehime University, Kochi University, Kagawa University) Program. In domestic level the Plant Protection program collaborates with domestic universities under the Association of Indonesian Plant Protection Study Programs, consisting of 12 institutions including IPB, UGM, USK, ULM, UHO, etc.
During their study period, students have the opportunity to gain learning experiences through Field Work Practices, Independent Internships, MBKM Internships, Thematic Community Service Programs, or conducting research for their Final Projects. Graduates also have the chance to be recruited as contract workers or permanent staff in institutions that have collaborations with the study program.

- Pest
- Disease specializations.
Learning Process
- Face-to-face learning in classrooms, laboratory practices, and field practices
- Through the MBKM program, students will have opportunity to take courses for one semester in Plant Protection Study Programs outside UNHAS, such as in UGM, IPB, UNSRI, UNAND, etc.
- At each semester, at least 3 courses in the Bachelor degree of plant protection Unhas are taught by Practitioner Lecturers who have substantial experience in their field. They will share their experiences with students. In addition, the program has Guest Lectures from foreign institutions.
Career Prospects
Graduates of Plant Protection program can have various career opportunities in various institutions, both private and government, such as the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, Plant Protection Institutes, Agricultural Departments. They can become Active Long Learners, Researchers in the field of plant protection, Agricultural Extension Officers, Entrepreneurs, and Managers.
