About the Program
Master of Agro-industrial Engineering Hasanuddin University is designed to produce graduates with competencies in the analysis, design, control, process development, and management of agroindustry. In addition, study areas encompass post-harvest handling, processing industries (agricultural, forestry, fisheries, plantation, and food products), bio-pharmaceutical industries, by-product processing industries, agricultural machinery and equipment industries, and agricultural industry services.
Strengths
The Master's Program in Agro-industrial Engineering at Hasanuddin University is the only Master's Program in Agroindustry Engineering in the Eastern Region of Indonesia. This region famous with its abundant agricultural natural resources.
Areas of Specialization
Master of Agro-industrial Engineering offers two areas of specialization: (1) Process Technology, focusing on the efficient and innovative processing of agricultural, plantation, fisheries, livestock, and forestry commodities through chemical, biochemical, and physical methods to produce high competitiveness and value-added products, and (2) Process Management, involving the management of processes, technological innovation, and system engineering through planning activities.
Learning Process
- Learning processes are conducted both face to face in classrooms and online, according to the teaching methods of each course.
- Another learning process involves industrial visits, either collectively attended by all students or individually with guidance from the course instructor.
- The final stage of the study consists of four non-face-to-face courses, including proposal seminars, research result seminars, and publications (indexed international journals or indexed international seminar proceedings).
- With the new curriculum structure, students can complete their studies within a minimum of 3 semesters and a maximum of 3 years.
Career Prospects
Alumni can have various career in industries, especially in agriculture related industries, civil servant in department of agriculture, industry, food crops, research and development, and lecturers in higher and vocational education.
