About the Program
Master of Agrotechnology is one of the graduate programs at the Faculty of Agriculture, focusing on the science and application of technology in plant cultivation, management and conservation of production areas, and pests and diseases control based on the principles of integrated and sustainable crop management.
Strengths
Master of Agrotechnology was established in 2014 as a multidisciplinary program under the management of the Postgraduate School of Hasanuddin University. In 2017, it transitioned into a monodisciplinary program managed by the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University. Since 28 December 2022, It has been accredited as "BAIK (good)" by BAN-PT(National Accreditation Board for Higher Education).

Learning Process
- The teaching and learning process is conducted through offline meeting or blended offline and online learning methods, laboratory practices, and field visits to government and private agencies/companies in the agricultural sector.
- The final project consists of research that culminates in a thesis focusing on specific areas of study according to individual interests, which can be conducted domestically or abroad. Final assignments conducted abroad can utilize the funding scheme of the SUIJI program (Six Universities Initiative Japan Indonesia), which can be undertaken at one of three universities in Japan: Ehime University, Kagawa University, or Kochi University, subject to selection by the appointed team.
- The examination team for the final research project includes one examiner from outside Hasanuddin University, namely a lecturer with expertise in the student's field of study from a Non-PTNBH University, holding at least a doctoral degree, or a Professor with expertise in a specific field relevant to the student's study area from a non-PTNBH University, or an individual with expertise relevant to the student's study area, holding at least a doctoral degree, from a government policy-making institution.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the master of agrotechnology program have career in various institutions, including as researchers in the field of plant, plant and environment interactions, and plant pest management in research institutions in government or private companies. In addition, the graduates also pursue career as lecturers in higher education institutions, civil servants in central or regional government agencies, professional staff in government or private companies, and as entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector
