A new chapter of cooperation between Australia and Hasanuddin University

 Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop, MP, invited the Civitas of Academic to study in the land of kangaroos. "Makassar has 20 universities that have an agreements with the universities in Australia, including the student exchange, research, academic, and administrative space," said Julie Bishop in her lecture.

Compared to the best college in the US, tuition fee of Bachelor of Arts (or equivalent degree) from seven university which was ranked as the world's top 100 in Australia half of the tuition fee at US universities.

On this occasion, she also explained some programs that run by the Australian Government in collaboration education. One of them is the New Colombo Plan, where students can learn to Australia, researching, even working in 38 points in the Indo-Pacific, including Makassar.

Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu MA, explained, 135 lecturers of Hasanuddin University is an alumnus of universities in Australia, both for master or doctoral program.

"During the program we are actively associated with universities in Australia to improve cooperation, '' she said.

Over past two years, Hasanuddin University also cooperating with several Australian universities, such as Griffith University, Newcastle University, James Cook University, Southern Cross University, and Charles Darwin University.

Dwia, who officiate as the Mainboard of the Australia-Indonesia Center (AIC) is explained that during the last two years Hasanuddin University send students to Griffith University.

Julie, who was accompanied by Australian Ambassador for Indonesia, Paul Grigson also introduced Consulate General of Australia in Makassar is newly formed, namely Richard Mathews.

The establishment of the Consulate General of Australia in Makassar is a follow up of the meeting of AIC in Hasanuddin University a year ago, when the Rector of Hasanuddin University also engaged as a Main Board in collaboration between two countries. 

"This is a new chapter of cooperation between Indonesia and Australia. The cooperation that carried out is no longer only bordered country by country, government by government, but the city with the city.
