The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), successfully organized an International Class Guest Lecture for the Basic Medical Sciences Course. The event featured Prof. Cheng Hwee Ming, Ph.D., from the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti of Malaya (UM), Malaysia, as the guest speaker.
The lecture, entitled “Brain and Blood Pressure,” was conducted online on Thursday, 4 June 2026, from 15:00 to 16:00 WITA via Zoom Meeting. The activity was attended by undergraduate students and faculty members as part of the internationalization program and academic enrichment initiatives of the Faculty of Dentistry.
Prof. Cheng Hwee Ming delivered a comprehensive presentation on the relationship between the brain and blood pressure regulation, highlighting current scientific developments and their relevance to medical and health sciences. The session provided participants with valuable insights into physiological mechanisms that influence cardiovascular health and disease.
The guest lecture was organised to strengthen academic collaboration between UNHAS and UM, while also exposing students to international perspectives in biomedical sciences. Through this activity, participants had the opportunity to engage directly with an internationally recognised expert and broaden their understanding of contemporary research in physiology. The event was coordinated by the International Affairs Office of the FKG UNHAS, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to fostering global partnerships and enhancing the quality of education through international academic engagement.
