The surgical specialist doctor team of Unhas Hospital (RS Unhas) treated a victim of a robbery, Monday (6/5), after a devastating series of events taking place, Thursday (2/6). The 19-year-old victim was hit by an arrow that hit his back and penetrated all the way to his bones.
“If the surgical room of RS Unhas were not sufficient, the surgery would not have been concluded until now. The arrow has penetrated all the way to his bones,” stated the unquestionable expert of surgery, Prof. Dr. dr. Idrus A. Paturusi after the surgery taking place in the Unhas Hospital, while showing the victim’s body that underwent surgery, Monday afternoon.
The victim’s vehicle was successfully taken by the robbers, and eventually leading to the victim being hit with an arrow. What made the surgery complicated was that the arrow itself has penetrated to the bones of the victim, stated the former Unhas Rector. Therefore the doctors had to open the bones to take out the arrow.
“This is highly dangerous, as if there is a nerve tissue that got hit, then the patient can get paralyzed,” stated Prof. Idrus Paturusi while adding, that the design of the head of the arrow can easily kill or disable its victims with ease. The patient was then taken cared by Prof. Idrus, as it failed to be taken cared of by the previous doctor.
“If the arrow landed to the thighs, it would not be a problem. But the arrow landed on the victim’s back,” stated Idrus Paturusi that was accompanied by an anesthesia doctor Nur Surya Wirawan.
