The Universitas Sulawesi Barat (Unsulbar) that in 2016 was known as the sub-local committee (Panlok) 82 Unhas and home to seven faculties during the academic year of 2016/2017, consists of the capacity to facilitate 2.360 newly enrolled students. The figures have been channeled through the National Selection of Higher Level Public Educational Enrollment (SNMPTN) 2016, which accumulates to 1.180 people.
“But through SNMPTN, those that re-registered are only 60%,” stated the Head of the Academic Bureau, Student Affairs, Planning, and Partnership Unsulbar, Abd. Latif once met in Unhas, Tuesday (7/6).
According to Abd. Latif, though the national percentage of new student acceptance through the SBMPTN and Independence enrollment pathways have been set equal, which is 30%. But Unsulbar targets to receive 40 to 50% from the Independent recruitment channels.
“This is caused by the mere fact that many of our high school graduates in West Sulawesi, has yet to register in Unsulbar,” stated the former educator of Unhas.
Dr. Ir. Ahsan Jamaluddin as Rector leads Unsulbar as of now, comprises of 280 human resources as lecturers (all have obtained their Lecture Registration Numbers/ NIDN). The faculties that the university consists of include: Engineering, Agriculture and Forestry, Economics, Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), Agriculture and Fisheries, Health Studies, and Social and Political Sciences.
