English-taught classes at Unhas, with a learning experience at a partner university abroad.
International classes run separately from regular classes, with English as the language of instruction. Graduates leave with the knowledge, skills, and language ability to compete at a global level.

International exposure
Every international class student completes one period of international exposure at a partner university or institution abroad — a double degree, joint degree, sit-in, internship, or another format. Some examples from Unhas:
Double degree
International Relations students can earn two degrees: a Sarjana Ilmu Politik from Unhas and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Queensland, Australia. The first graduate crossed the stage in July 2024.

Sit-in
International class students in Dentistry spent three weeks at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, supervised by its professors and lecturers.

Short international programme
Through the Blended International Programme at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands, Faculty of Nursing students studied planetary health with peers from several countries — four weeks online, then on campus in Groningen from 2 to 6 February 2026.

Guest lecturers from abroad
The Dentistry international class has brought in lecturers from Universiti Malaya and the University of Melbourne for online guest lectures.

Unhas’s global showcase
Rector Jamaluddin Jompa calls the international class Unhas’s global showcase and a key step towards becoming a world-class university. The university has drawn up guidelines for managing international classes so that governance, teaching, and curricula meet the same standard in every programme.
Students from 46 countries
As of April 2025, 305 international students from 46 countries were studying at Unhas. This film by the International Office follows their activities.

14 students head to Nanchang University for a 2+2 joint degree
Students from the 2024 cohort of the Chinese Language and Culture programme left in August 2026 to continue their studies in China, two years after starting at Unhas.
