About the Program
The Doctoral Program of Chemistry is one of the study programs in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, which focuses on pure and applied chemistry.
Strengths
- The only Doctoral Program of Chemistry in the Eastern part of Indonesia
- Since December 1, 2020, the Doctoral Program of Chemistry has received A Accreditation from BAN PT.
Areas of Specialization
There are five fields offered by the Doctoral Program of Chemistry: Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry. The student can pursue the program through research or course.
Learning Process
For The Doctoral Program of Chemistry by course + research, the learning process can be carried out both offline and online. Research is carried out in laboratories in the study program and in other laboratories in Makassar and at other universities outside Unhas or at research institutions. The completion of this degree requisite the student to write up a dissertation and to publish at least 1 (one) paper in a Scopus indexed international journal. Apart from that, students are required to take part in international seminars and be published in Scopus indexed international publications. For The Doctoral Program of Chemistry by research, there are no face-to-face lectures but students immediately carry out research to produce a dissertation and to publish at least 2 (two) papers in Scopus-indexed international journals. Apart from that, students are required to take part in 2 international seminars and at least 1 (one) publication in Scopus indexed international research. Students must also carry out 6 (six) progress seminars.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the Doctoral Program of Chemistry are generally work in various academic institutions (public and private universities, polytechnics) as academics, researchers and consultants.
