A visit to the kingdom state intended to continue some cooperation and open up new cooperation with universities in the Netherlands. The two-day visit filled with talks continuing cooperation with Utrecht University, observation the cooperation with Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Vrije University of Amsterdam.
Unhas and Utrecht University inaugurated its cooperation in 2008. The cooperation that exists between the Faculty of Law of Hasanuddin University and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance Utrecht University is actively underway since 2009. It marked the delivery of teaching staff and students doctoral program of the Faculty of Law Unhas researching at Utrecht University.
To increase the intensity of the cooperation, Hasanuddin University and Utrecht University conducted discussions related to the continuation and implementation of existing cooperation. On that occasion, the Dean of the Law Faculty of Hasanuddin University Prof. Farida Patittingi and Vice Dean of FHEP Utrecht Prof.Ton Hol agreed to increase the activity and the quality of cooperation between two universities, especially in the field of law.
From city of Utrecht, rector of Unhas flew to the city of Eindhoven. In this city there is one of the best technology universities in the Netherlands, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. TU Eindhoven are its European silicon valley. On the campus of TU Eindhoven stood several leading industry head office in the Netherlands. Integration between the campus and the office is a real example of the triple helix was initiated by Unhas, in the future has been initiated on the campus of the Faculty of Engineering Gowa.
A visit at TU Eindhoven started the meeting with the rector of TU Eindhoven Prof. F.P.T (Frank) Baaijens. Next, review the lab and mainstay study center of TU Eindhoven among them: Biomedical Engineering team, Surgery Robotic Group (robotic surgical tools), Applied Robotic (robots for specific purposes) and Autocar Laboratory (electric cars and solar cars).
At the end of the visit, agreed to follow up in the form of a memorandum of understanding where TU Eindhoven will guide Unhas in realizing the triple helix at the Center of Technology (CoT), Campus of faculty of engineering Gowa and Hasanuddin University will send students and lecturers to studying at TU Eindhoven.
On the sidelines of the visit, rector of Unhas also held a meeting with the ambassador of Indonesia to the kingdom of the Netherlands, I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja and Attache of Educational and Cultural of Indonesian embassy (Indonesian: Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia) abbreviated as KBRI, in Den Haag, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono. This friendship to further open up opportunities for cooperation between Unhas with institutions in the Netherlands.
The visit in Netherlands ended with the signing of the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between Unhas with Vrije University (VU) and the Vrije University Medical Center (VUMC), Amsterdam. This cooperation includes the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students for further research and study, exchange of faculty for research and teaching; exchange of academic information; as well as research and joint publications of Unhas and VU/VUMC.
This Memorandum of Understanding signed by the rector of Unhas Prof.Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu and President of Vrije University Prof. Jaap W. Winter. Unhas and VU/VUMC previously have had cooperation at the faculty level, namely the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry.
Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof.Dwia Aries Tina hopes the cooperation with the University in the Netherlands can continue to develop although today's still more in the medical field. Follow-up agreement with the university will include the entire of faculty in Unhas, so it will encourage the achievement of international reputation. (*).
