About the Program
The Psychiatry Specialist Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Hasanuddin, provides education, research and community service in psychiatry, with a particular emphasis on biological psychiatry.

Areas of Specialization
Areas of focus include biological psychiatry and psychopharmacology, child and adolescent psychiatry, psychotherapy, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, psychogeriatrics, community psychiatry, cultural psychiatry, and consultation-liaison psychiatry.
Learning Process
- Teaching takes place in the classroom and at psychiatric care services in hospitals and community health centers.
- Some courses may be taken in other study programs as part of the curriculum.
- The final project is a research thesis in psychiatry.
Career Prospects
Graduates can work in public health services and in public and private hospitals as medical specialists, in clinical or managerial roles. They can also teach and conduct research at public and private universities, or serve as expert staff in government institutions.
