About the Program
The Professional Architectural Education Program (PPAr) is a program that provides professional education for prospective architects. This program is managed by the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, and is pursued after completing a Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
Strengths
PPAr was established on August 23, 2022, as the first and only one in eastern Indonesia. It is currently accredited as "Good" by BAN-PT until December 13, 2025. The learning process utilizes Project-Based and Case-Based Learning facilitated by lecturers, architects, and architectural practitioners in studios and architectural firms/consultancies.
Areas of Specialization
Specializations in PPAr include: Architectural Design, Project Management, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Tropical Island Architecture.
Learning Process
Learning at PPAr consists of on-campus and off-campus learning. On-campus learning takes place in the first semester and comprises topics such as Professional Studio 1, Tropical Island Architecture, Environmental Building Technology, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Off-campus learning occurs in the second semester for one semester at architectural firms or consulting firms, covering topics such as Professional Studio 2, Professional Ethics and Development Regulations, Building Construction Management, and elective courses.
Career Prospects
After completing two semesters of study, graduates of PPAr will be awarded the professional title of Architect (Ar) and can work in various positions in the construction field such as Assistant Architects. Alternatively, they can continue an internship for 4000 hours and then take a competency test to obtain the Architect Registration Certificate (STRA) and become a certified Architect.
