About the Program

The Urban and Regional Planning Engineering Program (PWK) is one of the study programs under the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. It focuses on the science of urban and regional planning, aiming to arrange spatial organization and urban development harmoniously with the environment and sustainability principles.

Strengths

  • Accredited as "Very Good" based on Decree No. 2278/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PPJ/S/IV/2020 from BAN-PT.
  • The PWK Program at Hasanuddin University has a network of partnerships in research and education, both individually among faculty members and institutionally between Hasanuddin University and partner institutions, both domestically and internationally.

Areas of Specialization

There are 5 Specializations in the Urban and Regional Planning Program (PS-PWK) based on Labo Based Education (LBE), consisting of:

  • Urban Planning and Design
  • Infrastructure and Transportation Planning
  • Regional Planning, Tourism, and Disaster Mitigation
  • Housing and Settlement Planning
  • Waterfront City Planning and Design.

Learning Process

  • Lecture materials and teaching methods apply the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) and Lab-Based Education (LBE) methods.
  • Learning is conducted using various challenging strategies and techniques that encourage students to think critically, explore, create, and experiment using a variety of sources.
  • The implementation of learning includes mechanisms to periodically monitor, review, and improve teaching activities (attendance of lecturers and students), preparation of lecture materials, and assessment of learning outcomes.

Graduates of the Urban and Regional Planning Program (PWK) can pursue careers as urban and regional planning practitioners, researchers in urban and regional planning, bureaucrats involved in urban and regional planning, as well as in institutions/agencies related to urban and regional planning or spatial planning.
