About the Program
The Master of Urban and Regional Planning Engineering (MPWK) Program is one of the programs under the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (PWK) at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. It focuses on the science of urban and regional planning, aiming to arrange spaces and develop areas harmoniously with their environment and in a sustainable manner.
Strengths
Accredited as "Good" based on Decree No. 10086/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/M/XI/2022 from BAN-PT. - The MPWK Program at Hasanuddin University's Faculty of Engineering has a network of partnerships, particularly in research and education, both individually among faculty members and institutionally between Hasanuddin University and partner institutions, including foreign universities.
Areas of Specialization
There are 5 specializations in the MPWK Program based on Lab-Based Education (LBE), consisting of:
- Urban Planning and Design
- Infrastructure and Transportation Planning
- Regional Planning, Tourism, and Disaster Mitigation
- Housing and Settlement Planning
- Waterfront City Planning and Design.
Learning Process
- Learning is conducted using the Lab-Based Education (LBE) method.
- Enhancement of capacity for self-directed learning.
- Improvement of skills in preparing, writing, and publishing scientific works.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the Master of Urban and Regional Planning Engineering (MPWK) can pursue careers as academics (lecturers and researchers in the field of urban and regional planning), work in various institutions/government agencies in the field of urban and regional planning, or become entrepreneurs/contractors/consultants in urban and regional planning.
