About the Program
The Ocean Engineering Program at Hasanuddin University's Faculty of Engineering focuses on the engineering and management of offshore structures, coastal structures, as well as harbor engineering and management.
Strengths
- in 2001, the IT Engineering Program officially established itself as one of the study programs within the Faculty of Engineering.
- Accreditation "A" has been valid from December 27, 2017, to December 27, 2022, issued by BAN-PT.
- Accreditation "Excellent" has been valid from April 5, 2022, to April 7, 2025, issued by BAN-PT.
- Accreditation from the Indonesia Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE) has been valid from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2028.

Learning Process
- Learning is conducted directly in classrooms, as well as through field practices and laboratory work, including internships in governmental and private institutions.
- Courses can also be taken in other study programs or universities as part of the curriculum.
- Student activities through co-curricular and extracurricular activities are also recognized as part of the learning process and are referred to as Program Competency Strengthening Courses (MKPK).
- The final assignment consists of research or design projects resulting in a thesis focusing on specific areas of interest for students, which can be presented at national and international seminars as well as published in national and international journals.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the Ocean Engineering Program are absorbed into various government and private institutions, working as researchers in offshore engineering, coastal engineering, harbor engineering, marine hydrodynamic modeling, marine energy infrastructure, underwater operations, marine disaster management, and weather anomalies. They also serve as civil servants in the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Education, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, regional governments, and as professional staff in national and international private companies such as PT. Pelindo (Persero), PT. Pertamina (Persero), PT. McDermott Indonesia, shipyards, offshore construction companies, consulting firms, and contracting companies.
