About the Program

The Geological Engineering Program (PSTG) at Hasanuddin University's Faculty of Engineering was established based on Decree No. 1665/E/1977 on December 16, 1977. PSTG Unhas was established to strengthen the fundamental scientific principles of Hasanuddin University in the field of marine and maritime geology. In its development, it is expected to meet the needs of society and the country in the development of energy and mineral resources extraction, engineering, environmental, and disaster management.

Strengths

In 2018, for the first time, PSTG Unhas received accreditation with the "Excellent" predicate from BAN-PT. Since 2017, PSTG Unhas at Hasanuddin University has been certified by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance Self Assessment Report (AUN-QA SAR) SK. No. AP227UNHASAUG17, valid from October 5, 2017, to October 4, 2022.

Areas of Specialization

The concentration interests of PSTG consist of :

  • Mineral Resources Concentration
  • Engineering Geology Concentration
  • Marine Geology Concentration.

Learning Process

Learning Forms and Methods : Learning forms: The selection of learning forms and methods is based on the necessity that the expected abilities have been established at a certain stage of learning according to the CPL. Learning forms include: lectures, quizzes, tutorials, seminars or equivalent, laboratories, studio practices, workshop practices, field practices, research studies, community building/Community Service Program (KKN) thematic, student exchange, internships/work placements, teaching assistance, humanitarian projects, entrepreneurial activities, independent study/projects, and/or other equivalent forms of learning. Learning methods include: group discussions, simulations, case studies, collaborative learning, cooperative learning, project-based learning, problem-based learning, or other effective learning methods that facilitate the achievement of graduate learning outcomes.

Career Prospects

Graduates of PSTG will become Geologists and Engineering Geologists, Educators and Researchers, Consultants, Entrepreneurs, and Civil Servants.
